y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y1 is y-coordinate of point, x1 is x-coordinate of point, m is gradient.

y - 2 = 2(x - -5) = 2 (x + 5) = 2x + 10

y = 2x +10 + 2

y = 2x + 12

b) gradient of perpendicular = -1/m = -1/2.

y - 2 = -1/2 (x - -5) = -1/2 (x + 5) = -1/2 x - 5/2

y = -1/2x -5/2 + 2

y = -1/2 x -1/2
