a^2-b^2=(a-b)(a+b)

Therefore


f(x)=x^4-16\\f(x)=(x^2-4)(x^2+4)\\f(x)=(x-2)(x+2)(x^2+4)


(x-2)(x+2)(x^2+4)=0\\x=2 \vee x=-2
