Similarities between Oceania and Antarctica :

  • Lie in the Southern Hemisphere
  • Above mean sea level
  • Continents
  • Surrounded by water from all sides
  • Penguins and whales (humpback whales, blue whales, etc.) are present on both continents
  • Both are deserts; Antarctica is a cold desert, and Australia’s great central part is a traditional desert we think of
  • Least densely populated continents
  • Face the worst dangers of climate change (especially the ozone depletion issue poses the greatest danger to both of them

However, they are also different. Australia is obviously much warmer than Antarctica. Oceania is also made up of thousands of mostly small islands, whereas Antarctica has less than twenty.

Happy to help, have a great day! :)
