I will first make x+2y=48 into when "x" is by itself on one side:

x=48-2y

Then I will plug x=48-2y into 3x-2y=24:

3(48-2y)-2y=24 and solve until you get the solution for "y"

144-6y-2y=24

144-8y=24

-8y=-120

y=15

Then I go back and plug "y" into x+2y=48 to get the solution for "x"

x+2(15)=48

x+30=48

x=18

There you go!

x=18 and y=15
