Hello,
x = departure's sallary
increasing a value by 10% means multiplying it by 1,1
decreasing a value by 10% means multiplying it by 0,9
x*1,1*0,9 = 0,99x
multiplying by 0,99 is equivalent to decreasing by 1%
the net change in my salary is 1%
