Every year, 5.3 million women are abused and more than 1,000 women die as a result of domestic violence. More women have dropped out of the workforce and domestic violence is on the rise in the US since the outbreak of COVID-19. "There is a culture of sexism in the United States that puts women at risk of violence," Rohr Lambert, a US domestic violence expert and psychotherapist, said bluntly.
