5th term is 26.

Explanation:

5-2 =3. 10 - 5 = 5. 17 - 10 = 7.

notice how the differences are 3, 5, 7?

there's a gap of 2 between each difference.

so, let's call our next term in the sequence a.

a - 17 = (7+2).

a - 17 =9.

a = 26.

so, 5th term is 26.
