Read this excerpt.

“But despite these responsibilities, women in the medieval times had few rights. They were expected to obey their husbands and fathers in all things. Upper-class girls were married off early, as a way for powerful families to form alliances and build their wealth.”

What do you think about this paragraph? How would you feel if this was you?

After reading this paragraph I think I would feel like I didn't have any control over myself if I was in that situation. It would make me feel like people didn't trust me enough, or believe I wasn't smart enough to make decisions for myself.

Naturally I would feel oppressed but I would also feel like a caged animal that as soon as i became useless I would be slaughtered
