well, is a kite so it has two congruent triangles above and two congruent triangles below, for the perimeter is simply the hypotenuse of all four right-triangles.

\begin{array}{llll} \textit{using the pythagorean theorem} \\\\ c^2=a^2+o^2\implies c=√(a^2 + o^2) \end{array} \qquad \begin{cases} c=\stackrel{hypotenuse}{above}\\ a=\stackrel{adjacent}{4}\\ o=\stackrel{opposite}{3} \end{cases} \\\\\\ above=√( 4^2 + 3^2)\implies above=√( 16 + 9 ) \implies above=√( 25 )\implies above=5 \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill
