in the first worksheet in number (3) we are asked to factorize certain equations (mainly quadratics)

so in number one we have the quadratic equation as 4x²-12x+9. so this is an expression not equation and so therefore it is represented as the formula ax²+bx²+c


therefore \: a = 4 \\ \: \: \: \: b = - 12 \\ \: \: \: c = 9 \\

therefore 4 multiplied by 9 equals 36.

then we find a number that is a factor of 36 but can add to get -12. that number is -6 therefore substitute in the eqn


4 x^(2) - 6x - 6x + 9

then factorize to get an answer of


(2x - 3)(2x - 3)
