there are four main types of drought: meteorological, agricultural, hydrological, and socioeconomic. Meteorological drought is when there is a prolonged period of abnormally low precipitation, agricultural drought is when the lack of precipitation affects crop growth, hydrological drought is when there is a reduction in water supply, and socioeconomic drought is when the water shortage affects people's livelihoods and the economy.
