How can an environment affect a gene expression

Some phenotypes, which come from the genetic information, can be affected by the environment; an example of this is height, this might be affected by exercise, like if a person starts exercising to hard since a young age, then the person’s height might be affected, the person could stop growing up (in height). Another example of this is the change on the skin color, this might be affected by the place where you live/habitat, if it’s sunny or if it’s more like a dark place.

I really hope this helps
