200 000+40 000+8 000+10+8= 248018.

Standard form is represented in the format a x 10^b. a represents any number bigger than 1, but smaller than 9.9. B is what 10 is to the power of, it represents any whole number. It can also be negative.

Try and get a to a number bigger than 1, but smaller than 9.9. Then if you multiplied the new number by 10 to the power of something to get the old number, what would it be?

In standard form, it would be 2.48018 x 10^5 (so sorry if i’m wrong!!)
