Answer

Find out the how many one fourth pieces can be made out of the leftover cake.

To proof

Let us assume that the number of one fourth pieces can be made out of the leftover cake be x.

As given

\text{There are} \ (4)/(5) \ \text{of cake left over after a birthday party.}

Than the equation become in the form

(x*1)/(4) =(4)/(5)

Solving

x=(4*4)/(5)

x=(16)/(5)

\bold{x=3.2}

Therefore, one fourth pieces are 3.2 made out of the leftover cake.
