Answer: (-2, 10)

Explanation: Since one equation has a +4y and the other equation has

a -4y, when we add the equations together, the y's will cancel out.

So we have 23x = -46 and x = -2.

To find y, plug -2 back in for x in either of the two original equations.

I've chosen to plug -2 into the first equation to get 10(-2) + 4y = 20.

Solving from here, y = 10.

So our final answer is the ordered pair (-2, 10).
