5x + 0 = 20

5x = 20 ( divide both sides by 5 )

x = 4

substitute x = 4 into either of the 2 equations and solve for y

substituting into (2)

2(4) + 5y = 13

8 + 5y = 13 ( subtract 8 from both sides )

5y = 5 ( divide both sides by 5 )

y = 1

solution is (4, 1 )
