A wire of length 300m is used to fence a rectangular plot of land.The length of the land is twice its width. Find the length and the width of the land. ​

Answer:

Width = 50 m and Length = 100 m

Explanation:

Wire length = 300 m = Perimeter of the rectangle

width = x

length = 2x

perimeter of a rectangle = 2( l + w )

300 m = 2( 2x + x )

300 m = 2( 3x)

300 m = 6x

300m/6 = x

50 m = x

Hence, width = x = 50 m , length = 2x = 2(50) = 100 m
