At the end of her sale, Mae loses her order sheet! All she knows is that she sold 46 total items, and collected $428 dollars.

How many Penguin sets did she sell?
How many Mint Treasure tins?

2. 2. Solve the system of equations by graphing them.

The solution to the system of equations as an ordered pair (x, y) = (15, 31).

The graph of the solution has been attached.

How many Penguin sets did she sell?

Mint Treasure tin of cookies = $12

Dark Chocolate Penguins sets = $8

x + y = 46. (1)

12x + 8y = 428. (2)

Multiply (1) by 8

8x + 8y = 368. (3)

12x + 8y = 428. (2)

Subtract to eliminate x

4x = 60

x = 60/4

x = 15

Substitute x = 15 into (1)

x + y = 46. (1)

15 + y = 46

y = 46 - 15

y = 31

Therefore, (x, y) equals (15, 31)
