The distance of the ship from the lighthouse is 12.7km

The distance LT is 23.3 km

The distance is by

tan 33 = lt / st

tan 33 = lt / 19.5

cross multiply

LT = 12.7km

Using the pythagorean theorem

c² = a² + b²

c² =
√(12.7^2 + 19.5^2)

c =
√(591.54)

c = 23.37
