In order to find the x-interpret you need to set both equations to zero.
x + 5 = 0. x - 4 = 0
- 5. -5. +4. +4
x = -5. x = 4
Now that you have done that you plug them in as coordinates so the x-intercepts are
(4,0) and (-5,0)
