Solve the system of linear equations using any method you choose:

2x + 8y = 10
-x + y = -5

Answer:

2x+8y=10 ie. eqn1

-x+y=-5 ie.eqn2

now, multiply eqn 2 by 2 and solve eqn1 and eqn2 then we get,

2x+8y=10

-2x+2y=-10

___________

10y=0

therefore, y= 0 and put the value of y in eqn1

2x+8y=10

or, 2x+8×0=10

or, 2x=10

x=10÷2=5ans.

hence x=5 and y=0
