slavery is important and significant in history because it was profitable. on history.com, it says “With cash crops of tobacco, cotton and sugar cane, America’s southern states became the economic engine of the burgeoning nation. Their fuel of choice? Human slavery.” this means that it made many millionaires throughout the country. hope this helps :)
