I dont get this I need help to find the answer: 2x + 4 = -6x - 12

Okie, let’s do this mate!

1. Bring the variables to one side. But remember the sign of the number would change if the number is brought on the other side of the equal sign.

2x + 6x = -12 - 4


2. Now that you have the equation nice and organized add the variables add the constants (regular numbers) together!

8x = -16


3. You are almost done! Now divide each side by 8 since both of the numbers on either side of the equal sign can be divisible by 8.

x = -2

So your solution to your problem would be x = -2
