First of all, some background knowledge. Over the years, people have attempted to create a state named “Lincoln” in areas of eastern Washington, the panhandle of Idaho and western Montana. The most recent attempt was in 2005. My question is why don’t they just rename Washington State or Washington DC? Instead of cutting out a portion of 3 states? Wouldn’t that be easier? I mean, they only want to create Lincoln State because they think that it is unfair that only one president gets a state.
