-g + 2(3 + g) = -4(g + 1)

1. distribute
2(3+g) —> 6+2g

-4(g+1)—> -4g-4

2. combine like terms on left side
-g+6+2g —> g+6

3. g+6=-4g-4
5g=-10
g=-2
