I think it’s a bittersweet moment because the author says “i feel like lingering here for longer” shows the longing for being there as well as the description of the woods making beautiful image in our minds. But then the last sentence stated “I have pending appointments to keep, and much distance to cover” and we can practical feel how they want to stay but can’t but at least they got to enjoy the lovely woods.
