How do i find x if p and q are parallel?

I originally got the answer "x=40"
☆180-140, since 140, is located above near x due to the corresponding angles

X=140
You have corresponding angles since you have a transversal that runs through the parallel lines. Therefore any angles formed on the same side of the transversal line are going to be the same size.
