Canada is considered a federation and a constitutional monarchy. A federation can be defined as a political union of states under a central government but states still hold certain powers and rights to make decisions internally. Canada's federal government consists of a Federal parliament divided between a House of Commons and a Senate whose job is to make laws. The Governor-General is an advisor and represents the Queen of England, who is kept up to date on decisions made. The Prime Minister is part of the Executive branch and carries out laws. Each of Canada's ten provinces have their own Legislative Assembly and Lieutenant Governor. ® Based on the description above which government position would pass laws over national healthcare in Canada?
