Astronomers observed a distant galaxy and measured that it was some of the oldest light in the universe. Explain what color they observed when they saw the galaxy, and why it was that color.

more distant galaxies appear redder as the light reaches us. light from these galaxies is shifted to longer wavelengths (which means redder).
