Factor the top to get and pull out a GCF of 2 on the bottom: (x+1)(x+3)/2(x+1)

The (x+1) cancels out.

X + 1 =0

X= -1

Which means the Holes of the graph is X = -1

To find the exact point make an Table.

f(x) = (1+3)/2

f(x) = 2

So (-1, 1)
