There are two types: Defining clause and Non-Defining clause
Defining clause is used to provide information that readers need to know. No commas are used in this phrase or sentence. It cannot be omitted in English.
Non-Defining clause are used to provide nonessential informations. Commas could be used, and may be omitted depending on the information.
