The National Woman's Party (NWP) is a grassroots group that has focused on women's suffrage and civil rights. It was founded in 1916 by Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, and played a prominent role in the campaign for the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, which granted women the right to vote. The NW NW the group also worked for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and other legislation to secure women's rights.
