Restoring habitats can save species and biodiversity by allowing more animals to inhabit that area, and impact the environment in a way specific to them. For example, a turtle might eat invasive types of algae which is hurting the fish in the pond, thus benefiting both species. One limit of this method is not understanding the species in the area enough to make useful judgement calls and not understanding that animals can migrate and be unpredictable in a way.
