Reflection: What is the difference between a simile, a metaphor, and a personification?

Simile- Typically uses "like" or "as" to compare two things. Example: He was quiet as a mouse

Metaphor- Compares to things like a simile but does it directly. Example: Jeff is a walking dictionary.

Personification- Giving human like traits/actions to an inanimate object. Example: The trees danced in the wind
