In the civil war, the civil war was fought over slavery, it was fought by the United States of America vs the CONFEDERATE states of America. They both disagreed on if slavery should be abolished or not, it went as far as 11 southern states from the USA leaving the union, from 1860 to 1861 but the civil war was from 1860 to 1865.
