False. Squash and tomatoes are not vegetables, these produce are technically fruits. Botanists define fruits as parts of the plants that develop from a flower and they contain the seeds of the plants. These two produce are examples of this description that botanists defined. Vegetables are less sweet while fruits are sweeter but nutritionally speaking they are very similar when compared to animal products. This is because they contain less calories and fats but are very high in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
