a change through the action of heat and pressure

Metamorphic rocks develop when subsisting rocks are revealed to temperature and pressure buried inside the surface of the Earth. Metamorphic rocks are formed by the environmental or synthetic modification by warmth and pressure of existent igneous rocks which are formed by the cooling and crystallization of magma or sedimentary rocks which are made from the dirt, stones, mud material into a thicker form.
