What is the importance of the judicial system in advancing racial equality?

One of the main reasons why it is so important to have have a judicial system in terms of advancing racial equality is because this system (in theory) is able to strike down laws that are unConstitutional, and which may impede the rights and liberties of a certain group of people--or person.
