Osama bin Laden was in charge of the 9/11 attack.

The answer is Osama Bin Laden he was head of the al-Qaeda terrorist group. He was killed May 2, 2011. He was killed by the navy seals and it was a mission to take out the immediate threat but it took longer to find him than it did to kill him.
