The best way to explain why division of a fraction is multiplication would be to give a simple example. Let's say we have 2/3 divided by 4/5. Now in order to divide the two fractions, we have to change the division sign to a multiplication sign and change 4/5 to 5/4. Once we do this, we can solve for the problem and get an answer of 5/6. In order to verify if this is correct, try using a calculator to solve for 2/3 divided by 4/5 and 2/3 times 5/4. You will get the same answer.
