...Study of secondary sources. This is one of the differences between the two educational styles. Renaissance humanism heavily focused on revisiting the Classical period of Ancient Rome and Greece. Humanists favored studying primary sources over secondary sources, which they saw as being corrupted by modern scholars and thus inaccurate and misleading. Scholastics of the medieval ages were however very fond of secondary sources.
