How does the absorption and release of energy affect temperature change during a chemical reaction?

if heat is absorbed, the temperature increases but if heat is released, the temperature decreases :))

It depends. If you are talking about the temperature of the chemicals in the reaction, than the temperature increases due to increasing enthalpy. However, if you are talking about the temperature of the surrounding, than the temperature of the surrounding would actually decrease since heat is being taken away from the environment into the reaction.
