So first you 4 and 1/2 in to a mixed number. also 24 gets converted into mixed number too.
4 1/2 =9/2
24 =24/1
you multiply9/2 by 24/1
9/2x 24/1= 216/2
the next step is to simplify it. so you basically divide 216 by 2, which is 108 cookies
then you divide 108 by 10
the remainder is the answer.
The amount of cookies Craig ate was 8.

Lets look at the information we have:-

♥1 batch = 24 cookies.
♥4 1/2 batches = ? cookies.

First lets see how many cookies in 4 batches.

♥24 × 4 = 96

CHECK OUR WORK:-

♥96 ÷ 4 = 24
♥So we are right!!
♥4 batches = 96 cookies

Now lets see how many cookies in half batch.

♥24 ÷ 2 = 12

CHECK OUR WORK:-

♥12 × 2 = 24
♥So we were right!!
♥1/2 batch = 12 cookies.

Now lets add to see how many cookies in the 4 1/2 batches.

♥96 + 12 = 108
♥4 1/2 batches = 108 cookies.

To find how many cookies Craig ate we will divide.

♥108 ÷ 10 = 10.8
♥108 cookies = 10.8 bags.
♥10 bags full.
♥108 - 100 = 8
♥8 cookies left.

So Craig ate 8 cookies.

Hope I helped ya!!
