Describe how did John smith improve conditions in Jamestown

John Smith stole a tobacco seed and planted it in Jamestown during the "starving time". Many people heard about the tobacco growing in Jamestown, Virginia and all came to buy tobacco and settle there. Since Jamestown had more money from the tobacco that John Smith planted they got out of the "starving time.
