The given statement is False.

The movement of the oceans has an important impact on the global climate of the earth. Ocean currents acts a carrier as it carries the warm water and precipitation from the equator side of the earth which receives more sunlight to the poles which receives less sunlight.

The cold water from the poles moves back to the tropic. In this way the currents regulates the global climate of the earth.

It regulates the temperature of the earth by counteracting the uneven distribution of the sunlight on the earth.
