Density always stays the same. With that said, Gold will be MUCH denser than a block of wood. Wood is made of mostly carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen, all which are extremely light or least dense. Gold on the other hand is very heavy, it being comprised of much more electrons, protons, and neutrons closely packed together.
