9m + 2 = 3m - 10
9m - 3m = -10 - 2
6m = - 12
m = -2

9m+2=3m-10
subtract 3m from both sides to get:
6m+2=-10
subtract 2 from both sides to get:
6m=-12
finally, divide by 6 on both sides to get what m equals:
m=-2
