400÷4/7=700
you want divide the totals amount of lemonade among pitchers that only hold 4/7 of the lemonade. if the container held 1 qt, you would divide the total by 1

so

by proportion

Find the the number of containers that were used


(1)/((4/7))(container)/(quarts)=(x)/(400)(container)/(quarts) \\ \\x*(4/7)=400\\ \\x=400/(4/7)\\ \\x=700\ containers
