Why Is Oregon Called the Beaver State?

Due to their location off of the Pacific Coast, they have a perfect habitat for beavers. Plus the trees to sustain their shelters.

Long ago, beavers were used for furs and hats and coats, so they were much prized. Another thing is the beaver is the official Animal for Oregon!
