The statement which best explains the caste system is c) social class division developed by Aryans who believed they were superior to others. The caste system existed in India (and some argue still exists today) and was part of the Hindu society, where there were four different social classes. However, it is not solely part of the Hindu community as the British Raj transformed it and it existed as well under Muslim Mughal Rule.
